Magsaysay Shipmanagement Inks Agreement with Spectec Asia Pacific
Magsaysay Shipmanagement, Inc.(MSI), a business unit under the Magsaysay Transport & Logistics Group (MTLG) umbrella, recently signed a contract with Spectec Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. to implement its flagship application, the Asset Management Operating System Business Suite, otherwise known as AMOS. The AMOS Business Suite will help improve asset utilization, increase operational efficiencies and reduce operating cost for all vessels being managed by MSI.
Mr. Roberto A. Umali, COO of (MTLG), explained, “We evaluated a number of other solutions available in the market over the past year and finally selected AMOS as it has all the functions that we are looking for to effectively help run and maintain the ships we manage. The integrated solution provides us a single platform to collaborate with our fleet managers, ships’ crew, buyers, and suppliers while reducing the total cost of ownership. AMOS also provides an interface with SHIPSERV, making it easier for us to ensure immediate supplier response and around the clock spares availability for our ships’ needs. Also, by using the new system’s e-commerce capabilities, we can help our customers reduce cost of doing business with us.” SHIPSERV is a world leader in the maritime e-marketplace, helping buyers and sellers of ship supplies to reduce the costs associated with doing business together.
The AMOS Business Suite is an extensive and powerful Windows-based program capable of handling most of the daily Enterprise Resource Planning functions in organizations that may consist of multiple locations, such as the SAP being run by Magsaysay Transport & Logistics Group. The acquired system can readily integrate both financial and performance metrics to the current SAP Enterprise system. The maintenance solution of AMOS is an application that provides an integrated management of maintenance work and costs, stock control and purchasing.
